Design Values
My design values are inspired by Adrienne Maree Brown, Robin Wall Kimmerer and Design Justice.
Community-led
Everyone is an expert based on their lived experience and it is important to amplify the voices of those who are directly impacted by the design process. Co-design whenever possible.
Sustainability
Before creating a completely new experience, look at what is already working and thriving. Making environmentally conscious choices and consider how they may impact the world on a larger scale.
Life-Centered
Seek solutions that connect us with nature by considering all forms of life (humans, animals, plants, fungi, etc.) and how they are affected. Draw inspiration from the harmony of the natural world.
Inclusivity
Expand the focus beyond traditional accessibility. Embrace the richness of all lived experiences and empower communities to cultivate welcoming and safe environments for everyone.
Minimalism
Create intuitive, aesthetically pleasing and easy to use experiences that ultimately enrich people's lives by helping them be more present. Less is more.
Flexibility
Prioritize adaptability and stay fluid. Continuously learn and grow as a designer. Be open to feedback to better align with our mission and the people we’re serving.
